You’re pretty amazing! Do you want to help make Winter Fair 2023 amazing too?
We’d absolutely love to have you! We couldn’t put on this event without the help of our wonderful volunteers and awesome bakers. Please scroll down for more information and then fill out the form below to volunteer or bake.
Volunteers:
It takes a whole team of volunteers to pull off a great Winter Fair, and that team gets to work well before the event! In the weeks before Fair day, our prep crew volunteers create decorations and activities, procure and organize supplies, and help plan for the event.
On event day, we have a set up crew, who work from 2:00 until 4:00. They get us all ready to go and help our vendors get to their tables. And we have a clean up crew that works from 6:00 until 7:00 and makes sure we get our Winter Fair detritus picked up and out of the way of the night custodian. The more volunteers we have on each of these teams, the easier it will be for all.
We also need an event crew, who greet guests, run the bake sale and the activities, man the quiet room, and just generally keep everything running smoothly. Many of our hoped-for activities, like a snowball toss and a present wrapping station, can’t happen if we don’t have enough volunteers. The event crew are broken into a first shift (from 3:30 to 5:00) and a second shift (from 5:00 to 6:30) so that everyone has time to enjoy the event with their families.
We’re happy to have both adult and student volunteers in all of the above roles. The more the merrier! Also, if you’d like to volunteer but need some flexibility on times, just let us know. We’ll definitely make it work!
Please be aware that adults volunteering in the school building must have completed the Olympia School District volunteer process.
Bakers:
One other way to volunteer is to bake for our bake sale. The bake sale is always a great fundraiser for the PTA and helps support the many activities and services that the PTA provides. And we need your beautiful baked goods to make it happen! We’ve had all kinds of amazing treats over the years from whole cakes and pies, to delectable little cookies and everything in between. We ask bakers to please package their treats as they are intended to be sold. For example, three cookies to a package, or one muffin, or a whole pie if that’s how it’s meant to be sold. We welcome allergy-friendly baking when that’s a comfortable option. Please, in addition to packaging the baked goods, include a paper with the name of the recipe and its ingredients so guests can decide which goods are appropriate for them. There is no need to price items this year, as we’re running our Bake Sale on a donation basis with a recommended minimum to allow the generosity of our guests to really shine.
Please Note:
