Caregiver Workshop: Nurturing Cooperation

Is your child willing to go to war over a math worksheet? Do you dread asking them to put on their shoes because it often becomes a battle royale? Kids’ lack of cooperation can be frustrating, but behind the procrastination, reluctance, or outright refusal are often unmet needs, stressors, and skill gaps. In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore the underlying reasons kids struggle to cooperate and how to address those challenges with empathy and strategy.

We’ll also dive into Dr. Ross Greene’s highly effective Plan B approach for problem-solving with kids, giving you a paradigm to work through the inevitable challenges together while respecting everyone’s needs. Whether your child is a master of procrastination or firmly planted in “no,” this workshop will help you to respond with understanding and confidence.

Led by Colley Joubert, ORLA parent and coach for differently-wired individuals, this workshop is designed with a neurodiverse lens on parenting challenges. Together, we’ll focus on concepts and strategies that are applicable to a wide range of families, especially those with neurodiverse members. You’ll gain practical tools to set your family up for success, reduce conflict, and foster a more collaborative home environment. Join us and learn how to nurture connection and cooperation in your family!
