Caregiver Workshop: Nurturing Cooperation
For those of you who were initially signed up, thank you so much for your patience and understanding as we rescheduled this workshop. Our presenter was so incredibly disappointed to have to postpone it at the last minute when she fell ill, but we are excited to welcome you in March for an insightful and engaging session. If you were originally signed up, you will automatically be included on our list for the new date. If you weren’t, you can still sign up now. Please scroll down for more information and the sign up link.
Additionally, to ensure everyone can fully participate, we are offering childcare during the workshop. If you would like to take advantage of this, please email communications@orlapta.org to let us know. We look forward to seeing you in March!
Is your child willing to go to war over a math worksheet? Do you dread asking them to put on their shoes because it often becomes a battle royale? Kids’ lack of cooperation can be frustrating, but behind the procrastination, reluctance, or outright refusal are often unmet needs, stressors, and skill gaps. In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore the underlying reasons kids struggle to cooperate and how to address those challenges with empathy and strategy.
We’ll also dive into Dr. Ross Greene’s highly effective Plan B approach for problem-solving with kids, giving you a paradigm to work through the inevitable challenges together while respecting everyone’s needs. Whether your child is a master of procrastination or firmly planted in “no,” this workshop will help you to respond with understanding and confidence.
